As good as advertised!
I was doing my yoga-like exercise on a regular yoga mat (thin) , on my carpet, and some cardio too (on the mat doubled up). Not very practical. Mat moving, knees, writs, etc aching…and I found this Solana mat!Thickness: It is a bit less than one inch now, but I have been using it all summer and maybe it compressed (?). But it feels as good as on day one. Cushy while stable enough to do cardio without falling off. It absorbs shock and sound. Size: It is very long, I wish it could be a little wider, but I knew the width when I bought it. Real estate: To put it away is tricky, especially if you have hand issues: I roll it up fairly loosely and stand it up on its side and I shove it in a tight space of my walk-in closet. It takes a lot of space but rolling it up tight like the advert shows is too much of a struggle (think putting an octopus in a cooler?) + I tried to use the strap they provide and I did not like the marks it left on the mat. But you could not have it tightly rolled without a strap. The smell? I was afraid it would smell: nope. And for that price, I think it is one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time. It’s holding up and delivering exactly what I needed + it’s pretty attractive, what else can I ask for?

Bought this for my hikada who previously had wrist surgery and had mentioned she needs a thick mat for her to not feel any pain while she does yoga. She told me that is the best mat she has ever used and uses it to workout constantly. She’s tinier than me so the length is good too and she does not slide around.

I bought this for at home use, since my floors are pretty hard I wanted the extra padding. It is VERY padded but feels kind of like foam which I kind of didn’t expect. It also makes loud squeaky noises when you move positions, but at home alone that’s not a problem.

I was looking for a nice, cushiony yoga mat for my old knees! This one has worked great. The dimensions are good. The quality, so far, is good as well and I’ve enjoyed exercising on this mat. The only negative is that it did have a strong chemical odor when I first received it, but I unrolled it and let it air out for a couple of days and the odor disappeared. I would recommend this mat.

Thicker than other yoga mats. I can do my morning stretches and exercises on it comfortably. I bring it out by the pool so I can sit on the concrete outside the pool. I also use it this way; I throw it over my raft so my dog can float around inside the pool. The handy carrier makes it a breeze to travel with it too.

I just received my retrospec mat today but it’s slightly different than listed. It is a different shade of blue and has a pattern on it which it didn’t in the photo. Maybe I received the wrong colour. It also didn’t include a carrying strap which it states it’s supposed to. The actual quality of the mat is good but I am a little disappointed that it’s different than described.

The mat is very comfortable due to its thickness. However, after two months using it, I started slipping. I decided to put use it on the other side, but then the “top” slides on the floor. I now have to use a carpet below so that it doesn’t slip. When I’m doing planks or downward dog position, I can feel how the mat is stretching. Its thickness is great for my knees and hips, but the anti-slips goes away in no time.
