These deluxe sash lifts are constructed of diecast materials and come finished in a white painted color. These lifts measure 4 inch wide x 3/4 inch height with 3-15/16 inch on center mounting holes, and they feature a universal design allowing them to be used on wooden and vinyl double hung windows. These deluxe sash lifts are easy to install and are used by many window manufacturers. Installation tip: Use caution when mounting 3/4 inch installation fasteners (provided with sash lifts) to avoid glass breakage.

Strong and easy to install but be careful.
These are made of metal with an attractive white finish. They are eay to install but be careful to drill the screws’ pilot holes far enogh down so they miss the window pane or you might crack the glass. A piece of masking tape wrapped around the drill bit makes a great depth guage to avoid drilling deeper than necessary. White phillips flat head screws are included.

The replacement sashes fit exactly as like the original that we had to replace. Very easy to remove the old ones and install the new ones. The new sashes feel a lot stronger, and I feel confident they will outlast the windows because they are metal and not plastic.Over the years the original sashes installed by the window installer degraded most probably from the UV light coming in through the window. These were made of a type of plastic. These metal ones are very strongly made, match the white of our window frames, and were easy to install.If possible, I would suggest to use the original screws from the old sashes. The original screws were of a slightly different thread, and their length was slightly shorter. I did not want to take a chance on degrading the self tap type thread in the frame, and the length of the new screws appeared to be about 1/8 inch longer. In my case I felt safer to use the original screws.I saw in the package there is a diagram showing the dimensions. This would be very handy if making a new installation.From my point of view this is a good quality window sash.

Strong, sturdy, affordable.
Installed on one of my windows, the entire house had no handles on the windows, but this one is in a position where I have to lean over making it difficult without a handle. This solved that problem. Fit just perfect. Just be careful while drilling and lining it up and don’t over torque the screw to avoid any chance of cracking like others.

Used them on all the windows…
I originally only bought one to replace a broken one. Once I saw how well made these were, I bought enough to replace all the windows. The old ones were plastic and these are metal. I don’t see these ever needing to be replaced, so get some today, replace them all and you’ll never need to do it again. Well worth the money and time.

BEWARE THE SCREW LENGTH
I used these handles as replacements for the old plastic ones around my house that have been cracking. The are sturdy and they fit the existing holes left behind by the old handles. But, I learned the hard way that the provided screws are too long for my windows! They penetrated through the vinyl, and cracked the glass on the other side. From now on I will continue to use the original screws from the old handles.

It Works!
Having just gotten a few window replacements in our house, we discovered they didn’t have any grips for opening or closing them. My husband found these on Amazon, and installed them with little effort. He did have measure and drill into the frame, so if you don’t want to do that, these might no be your best choice. However, I couldn’t be happier to now have a nice grip to open my windows, and they look as though they came that way.

Some people find the screws too big. In my case I had to go buy bigger ones. That’s fine, it all depends on what you are replacing. My only issue is the price, it was ok for the one window (4 handles) but now I want to do the whole upstairs, and 12 sets at 17 (plus new screws) seems excessive. However, after a month, I’ve been super happy with the product itself.
