From fan-favorite author K.M. Moronova comes a biting, suspenseful dark romance set inside an elite special ops squad.

Nell Gallows is the sole survivor of an elite dark forces squad, Riøt, after a detrimental attack two years ago. Unsurprisingly, she’s being put up as the top candidate for the special ops team: Malum. The squad that goes where no one else will or can. There’s only one problem: Malum blames their one casualty from the Patagonia mission on the Riøt squad.

So what is she to do when she finds herself on a plane to California and on her way to a sure death sentence? A one-night stand. At least, that’s all it was supposed to be―one last night to be free. Only, she finds out too late that the dark and mysterious man she solely wanted as a fling is not only her new comrade but also the one she dreaded meeting most―her immediate superior and untouchable devil in the field. Bones.

He’s hell on earth―cruel and unforgiving, but most of all, he hates her, and he makes sure she knows it. And yet, she finds herself unwilling to leave his side when he’s unable to get to the evac point when their mission goes awry.

She stays behind with the devil and the secrets he keeps. They only have one another to trust when no faith is left.

    Nell & Bones <3
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5Please read your trigger warnings, as this book contains topics that may be sensitive for some.I lovedddd this book. K.M. never fails to deliver a phenomenal read. This book is a dark military romance. The action is high-stakes, and it will put you on an emotional rollercoaster with emotionally scarred characters.Nell Gallows, the "lone" survivor of the Riøt squad, was reassigned to a special ops team, Malum, that resents her and her prior squad. She bumps into a mysterious stranger, has a one-night stand, only to find out that he is her new commanding officer and sworn enemy... Bones.Nell is a standout badass FMC who's independent. Bones, also known as Bradshaw, is cold and cruel. Their romance isn't soft - it's raw, brutal, and so freaking beautiful.Tropes:🖤 Enemies to Lovers🔪 Forced Proximity🖤 Morally Grey Characters🔪 Trauma Bonding🖤 Psychological Warfare🔪 Bully Romance Elements"My mom always said I was into bad guys. I doubt she knew I’d grow up to be into ones who clearly had psychological problems. The ones you don’t tell God about when you pray at church to forgive your sins—the ones with dark backstories and baggage."

    addictive dark and twisty
4 ⭐️Available on KU/Probably Smut EditionI couldn’t put this one down. I even forgot the laundry in the dryer. These two are dark and twisty AF. So yeah, the red flags were flying. 🚩 I was a smidge uncomfortable with some aspects, but I was intrigued and wanted to learn more about them. I enjoyed their journey and while some of it was predictable, it still made my heart race with anticipation. I was in it and I would have been ok at 89% if it ended on a cliffhanger. The time jump didn’t bother me but what did and didn’t transpire in those years did and I wanted to stop reading but I continued because I needed to see how these two find each other again because that’s the whole point.Read at your own risk, but you will stare and shake your book/kindle in the last 10% in aggravation.Spoilers on Goodreads. 🖤

    Dark, Twisted, and Unforgettable! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
Leave Me Behind by K.M. Moronova is an absolute knockout! From the very first page, I was hooked. This dark romance delivers everything I love—grit, revenge, tension, and a bad-ass female lead who completely steals the show. Her journey from pain and vengeance to unexpected love is raw, emotional, and addictive. The enemies-to-lovers dynamic? Perfection. Add in the dark themes, the heat, and the emotional unraveling, and you’ve got a rollercoaster I couldn’t get off (nor did I want to). I loved Bunny and Bones more than I expected, and their chemistry? Whew. This book grabs you and refuses to let go.If you like your romance a little dangerous, full of edge, and packed with feeling—Leave Me Behind is the one.

Good. But had so much potential to be more.
Oof. Idk where to begin. I think ill try to keep this short because I really was with this book until the 88% mark. It was unhinged and messy and a lot of the plot didn’t make sense (suspension of disbelief struggled with how many times a person can be shot or stabbed and still live). But that really didn’t bother me. I was here for Nell and Bradhsaw’s story. I was here for their volatility and unhinged topsy turvy obsession and guessing game on trust in each other. I was with the betrayals and backstory. The darkness and spice. It was really a fun and addictive read…But man, this doesn’t happen often and I won’t go into detail….but I was not with the book at all for the last 12%. It wasn’t fleshed out. It was sloppy, not messy. And the ending chapters were just thrown together as plot points. It really confused me because the other 9/10ths of the book didn’t do this.I enjoyed most of it though, so I do intend to read something else from this author, and hope that the ending was just rushed for circumstances and not practice…but this one left me really on a deflated sail.✌️🫶

    Love this story!
⭐️ 5/5, 🌶️ 4/5This book! I was obsessed with the FMC, Nell. She is a complete badass and is literally a shoot first and ask no questions later kind of woman. Her new underground dark forces squad nicknamed her “Bunny,” and her first (very steamy) interaction with her new partner didn’t go as planned. She joined the unit for revenge, so nothing anyone can do or say will make her voluntarily leave the squad, no matter how awful they are.The MMC, Bradshaw is completely unhinged (and I loved him so much in this)! He is such a gorgeous, tortured soul that makes for the perfect man for the enemies to lovers trope. He does do a lot of things that shouldn’t be forgiven, but Nell is also equally scarred and their souls spark together. The plot was fantastic and kept me interested. The spice was super spicy and I wish there had been more of it (if so, would have been a 5/5 on spice rating)! Trigger warnings of course, the more the better I always say! This book is an amazing, dark romance adventure with enough hot spice to be worthy of a re-read. Leave Me Behind while I cry after this one. A must read if you enjoy this genre! Don’t just put it on your TBR, read it now (or at least move it up to the top of your list)!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️• Dark military romance• enemies to lovers• Badass FMC• Unhinged MMC• Bloodplay• Painkink• PTSDThis story follows Nell, the sole survivor of a grim underground squad, who finds herself joining a different unit; Malum. Yet, not all is as it seems when the truth is unveiled. My heart broke for Bones and Bunny, and KM Moronova fixed it again in a twisted and unexpected way. Is this your traditional love story? No. Did it pull on my heartstrings? Yes. A love story between two broken people who learn to love in their own wicked way. And I enjoyed the ride. And the spice is HOT!! 🌶🌶🌶🌶“What God? Tonight, you only scream and cry for me. No God will bear witness to what I make of you.””She might think I broke her tonight, but it’s she who has broken me.””I like the way broken men grieve.”“Oh, Bunny, you sick little thing. Tell me you aren’t into this too. The pain kink was already catching my heartstrings, but this? This makes me want to brand you as mine.”“Together, our broken pieces can do anything.”What a marvellous read this was! I adore KM Moronova’s books, and this one certainly did not disappoint. I was enthralled watching Nell and Bradshaw’s relationship unfold in their own dark, twisted manner. KM Moronova possesses an incredible talent for making you feel as the characters do, allowing you to truly relate to their pain and passion. There are numerous plot twists, and nothing is straightforward in this book, which is precisely what makes it such a thrilling rollercoaster ride. I absolutely loved this book; I had been eagerly awaiting release day, and KM Moronova has truly delivered.

It’s a good read, but prolonged a bit. Could have ended sooner tho.. well.. fell in love with both the characters..

  10. Genesis

You know it’s tricky because it was good, good romance and good story. But a couple of things just rubbed me the wrong way: 1 the twin, why he was involved sexually? This I can’t forgive, because they didn’t tell the MMC and it absolutely had nothing to contribute to the story 2 “the sacrifice” b t c h you were living your best life like a queen. There were no sacrifice!!! 3 the whole ex dying and the f c king music box, I mean am I supposed to feel sad, angry, happy?.I got the feeling that the MCs were in love with their former partners and not them. I mean yeah they both got chemistry and they like each others, but love ? She did love Jenkins and he did love Abriham (or whatever his name was hahaha) but between them everything was just sexual tension and maybe some feelings. After tree years, we didn’t even get a POV of Bones and how he was feeling about the whole situation, that’s just crazy. And the last chapter? Damn it was hard, not a ounce of love was present, but yeah we still got the music box of her ex. I think the last few chapters changed completely my mind about the book. Because I think they felt rushed and like “yeah let’s fast forward a few years and move on”. You know the “plot twist” of the “real villain” wasn’t executed correctly, never not even once I saw Jenkins as a true villain because you spent the whole book her saying that she loved him and mapping everything as Eren being really bad and evil to her. So yeah the man was bad, but you didn’t leave me even 1 chapter for me to hate him hahahah. Right until “the sacrifice” it was a solid 5 stars because I was invested in the story and maybe I could forgive somethings, but after that… uff I’m rating 3 stars, but I’m being generous I guess.
