Straightforward, detailed and clear. An excellent breakdown of the asanas. Leaves the spiritual side to you.
Comprehensive and clear, very readable. A handy reference to have around as a sort of ‘dictionary’ of asanas, detailing proper form, with many helpful hints and variations in the side notes on each page. Also diagrams muscle groups involved in each posture. Even if you are familiar with the asanas from regular yoga class practice, it’s still a helpful way to check your details. If you have a home practice as well, it’s a great way to insure you don’t drift off proper form. And very handy when approaching new postures or more advanced variations, in terms of having as clear-as-possible an idea of what you are doing and keeping your practice safe as well as challenging.

    Time for Yoga
This book is great! The best part is the illustration after the photo of each pose showing which muscle groups are targeted. The written instructions may need read a second or third time to get it right on the more difficult positions, but are well-written and concise. First saw a version of this at the local library, but decided it is a must-own.

    Excellent book for basic positions
This is a nice basic yoga class. It has a chart with all positions which I taped on a board to set up during exercises. Am very pleases with this book. For folks like me over 65 yrs. old i supplement with lightweight yoga blocks to get into some of the more difficult positions they diagram.

Amazon listing for this product are messed up
Be careful when ordering titles in this series. There are some issues with ISBN numbers of these yoga products from this company. Amazon also has a number of issues of using images of the wrong ISBNs in this series (such as showing me the image of the fitness yoga DVD boxed set while I am writing the review for the Paperback book). These ISBNs and images have been mis-printed/mis-matched on some products from this company (you can compare to B&N for their listings)- 9781743080092 – Paperback book on this page- 9781743087350 – DVD and 64page mini paperback book- 9781743087411 – DVD and ‘hardcover’ bookThe 192 page book in this series is good intro material. It is great for beginner and intermediate yogis. Some of the set of DVD and 64page mini book (9781743087350) have been shipped out having the ISBN sticker of these other products (9781743087411). I know because this happened to me. As soon are you order comes in make sure you get what you ordered.

Maybe the only instructions on Yoga u need ‼️
Intuitive, illustrations easy to understand , instruction on moves – can not put a value on a book that can save your body from stiffening up 🤔❤️

Love how it shows which muscles are being strengthened and stretched per each position.

It’s a great book, beautifully illustrated with lots of good information. However be careful when ordering because there are several different ones there’s actually a spiral notebook type that I ordered and did not bother to return.

This is my second copy of this manual, wearing the first one out from use and making notes in it over the years. I like it for teaching cert course and suggest it for beginners when they ask for info that is in common words and fairly easy to understand… Price is a tad high, but comparable

I purchased this book second-hand and am so amazed by the quality of the condition that it is in, especially considering that it is a paperback! I find the book’s content to be very clear, concise, instructive, well organised and easy to follow. The visuals for each yoga pose are very helpful, and the added tips on breathing and working up to each pose a plus. Love this book!

Standing Half Forward Bend to Standing Forward Bend ( Ardha Uttanasana to Utanasana)6. Upward Salute (Urdhva Hastasana)7. Mountain Pose (Tadasana)8. Tree Pose ( Vrksasana)9. Plank Pose10. Chaturanga (Keine englische Bezeichnung / gehaltener Liegestütz)11. Upward-Facing Dog (Urdhva Mukha Svanasana)12. Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II)13. Extended Triangle with Block (Utthita Trikonasana)14. Half Moon with Block ( Ardha Chandrasana)15. Chai Pose (Utkatasana)16. Warrior I (Virabhadrasana II)17. Intens Side Strech / Prayer Pose ( Parsvottanasana)18. Camel Pose (Ustrasana)19. Pigeon Pose (Eka Pada Rajakapotasana)20. Bound Angle Pose (Baddha Konasana)21. Seated Forward Bend (Paschimottanasana)22. Reclining Twist (Jathara Parivrrti)23.

I love this book. A great and simple way to understand the science behind the poses.
