An okay clay.
Contrary to the packaging and product title, it is not easy to smooth. It’s also not easy to score, slice, make slip, join, compress, or pretty much anything you would expect from a water-based clay.I’ll give it some leeway. All fibered air-dry clays are annoying to cut or carve and tend to crack while drying, especially with clay intended to dry fast and with thicker pieces.I’ll give it a little bit of praise, too: the fibers are just a little more fine than some other cheap air-dry clays, making them a little more manageable. The packaging is solid, with a soft plastic lining to the thicker foil outer layer keeping it safe and moist. It takes impressions surprisingly well, even if that does make it a little frustrating that hand-sculpted fine details are such a headache. It also takes to Sanding and carving pretty well once bone-dry.Some of the issues are due to the fibers intended to reinforce the strength of the clay, but the clay itself transitions so quickly from unpleasantly sticky to fighting against being manipulated that I struggled to develop a method of working with it at first. It wilts under its own weight unless leatherhard, and attempting to form the outer layers when even a little dry will result in cracks or the internal shape deforming. As with any air-dry clay, wait longer than the recommended drying time to try and paint it. I waited 48hrs for my pieces and they were still a little moist, ¼” ended up taking roughly 72hrs and ¾” took around 84. For kids or for larger, less detailed projects, I can see this having a use. I don’t think it’s professional grade or for very committed projects. Personally, I plan to use the rest to seal walls for pouring Silicone molds.

Works well
It was a bit wet when first opened. I wasnt going to take it all out but it was very sticky and hard to just get what I needed so I just opened the whole block. Its quite a heavy clay, comparable weight to natural clay. Just in general I noticed a lot of similarities to natural clay aside from the stickiness. At first the stickiness was very irritating. It ended up coating my hands in a thin layer of clay as I worked it. This layer dried so I had to clean it all off to avoid getting dry clay back in the wet. Not a huge deal, it needed time to dry a little to get more workable anyway. That was the key for me to get it more usable. It needs some kneading and it needs some time to let some of that excess moisture go.Usability is still not as smooth as natural clay of course, but that’s to be expected. Its fairly soft and pliable. Some stickiness did remain but tolerable. It dries properly, harder than other air dry clays I have used. Overall it was a fun material to work with. I think it would be good for artists and kids alike. The air dry nature is good for children so you don’t have to worry about firing, but it resembles natural clay enough to offer a better experience than the softer ones I’ve tried. As an artist I’ve used some of this to work on basic models I plan to fine tune with other materials later. For that purpose I think it’s nice. Could work for a variety of uses. I would definitely go with this over others.

Three days later and still not dry.
This is the stinkiest medium I’ve ever worked with. Usually when I do clay I use polymer clay, but I wanted to try air dry clay for a couple of projects. Is this a normal smell with air dried clay? I have no idea as this is the first one I’ve used, but it’s SO bad! It’s terrible to work with as well. The consistency was like…dough that doesn’t have enough flour in it. Or melting cream cheese you gotta peel away from the foil wrapped. Because that’s exactly how I had to do it. I had to like…squeeze the goop substance out of the pack. Granted, it’s been incredibly hot here (over 100 degrees) so that may also have something to do with it. But it is something to be aware of.Anyway, I set it out of the way to leave it to air dry. I worked on it on Friday and gave it all weekend. It’s currently beside me and I can see PARTS of it have dried as they are a different color. However, most of it is still damp. It’s still not dry. And STILL stinky! Like seriously…why does it smell so bad?I have no idea if this is an air dry clay thing in general or this specific brand, but all I know is after trying this I think I’m gonna stick to polymer.

Decent clay with a couple of caveats
I ordered this air dry clay to have some fun bonding time with my daughter and do something I enjoy. The clay seems alright, it does what its supposed to but I couldn’t get the little cracks and wrinkles out of it. It also didn’t really work for attaching two pieces together.I made a little morel mushroom and a toadstool to test it out. I let the pieces sit overnight last night and just used my epoxy glue to glue on all the little dots on my toadstool. Before I glued the stumps on, I noticed the inside of the toadstool was still malleable. Not sure how long I should let it sit for to completely dry but I won’t be painting it until then.

Decent clay
As a beginner working with air dry clay, I found this product very easy to use. It has no noticeable smell. It is very easy to shape. So far I have not tried it with molds. It dries as described-within 24 hours. After drying it has a rather smooth whitish color surface and feels pretty lightweight. I have not noticed any cracks after drying. It is also easy to paint. It does not create a lot of mess. Very easy to clean up, just water and done.
