My heart hurts
This was by far the most gut-wrenching, heartbreaking book I’ve ever read in my life.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️After reading Binding 13 and Keeping 13, I knew Joey and Aoife have been through the wringer but I had no idea how long they’ve actually loved each other.God, I loved seeing them become best friends and falling in love very slowly, like this was definitely a slow burn kind of love. But I could tell they fell in love at first sight with each other when they first met 5 years prior. It hurts to see Joey deal with the worst of the pain inflicted on him by his parents and the way he copes is so self-destructive, it’s only fair that Aoife wants to fix and save him. She never gave up, no matter what and I admire her so much for that.I think i cried so many times reading this book, mainly of sad, sad tears where it hurt to even look at the pages. But it was worth reading and it was worth seeing these two fight for each other. The writing was amazing and descriptive and I enjoyed the different point of views from Joey and Aoife, especially to see how each of them felt at specific moments. I absolutely love Aoife by the way; I didn’t get much information about her from previous books, so it was refreshing to see her personality shine. That ending really gutted me hard by the way! I’m lucky the next book in the series is out, otherwise I would have been left hanging, thinking about the ending of this book and of Keeping 13.Please be wary of the trigger warnings in this book. It’s very hard to read at times knowing that Joey struggles with addiction and an abusive household. It’s worth the heartache to read though, and I would absolutely give this book 6 stars if I could!! The boys of tommen once again have my heart ❤️

I really really don’t love you
Heed this warnings, this book is very upsetting and graphic. I skipped most of the abusive scenes as I had enough of that in the first two books. Let’s talk about my girl Aoife. This girl, let me paint a picture. Brazen, Loud, Outspoken, Mischievous, Self assured, Free spirit, Pure heart, Penchant for trouble and Spiteful. The absolute balls on this girl. She is strong, independent, and unapologetically herself. Her presence commands attention, and her actions speak volumes. She is a force to be reckoned with, Joey had no chance.Even though Shannon had it so tough, in her books Joey had it worst. He had his mother to deal with and she was not kind. She actually had the audacity to compare Joey to his abusive jackhole father. That one sentence did his head in. It was unfair and untrue.

5 “I don’t love you” STARS!!
I have been destroyed.(in the best way)Where do I even begin? So first off, I was so shocked when I saw that it would be staring in 1999 and going to 2004 (right up until B13 starts if you’re wondering!) and I had NO IDEA what to except from Joey & Aoife’s relationship because from the snippets and teasers ANY predictions I had at the end of K13 for their book went out the window 🤣But I’m so happy that it was written so far back because you get so see so much more buildup and development. It was 😗🤌Joey is an angel. No one can tell me otherwise. The things he does for his siblings & even for his evil witch of a mother are so selfless it’s like this boy was sent down from the freaking heavens or something. His life is so messed up, he was handed the crapiest deck of cards and yet somehow continues to defend, protect, and live for his siblings.I’ll tell you right now that if I were Joey Lynch I would not have made it.My baby Joey goes through so much. His father is a piece of absolute crap (as you saw in B13 & K13) and what his father did to Shan is NOTHING compared to what he does to Joe. Joey takes the hits, he puts his body and life between his father and his siblings and it is so heartbreaking to watch as it destroys him.Don’t even get me started on his mother. ANY and ALL sympathy I had for her is GONE. She is vile. I’m not going to say anything that happens because spoilers, but I am no longer giving her the benefit of the doubt and cutting her some slack for being a victim. She is just as bad, if not worse, than Joey’s father with the way she sinks her claws into Joe’s head.Joey is seriously one of the purest souls. Now, I mean, looking at the drugs and the mask he puts on, anyone just looking at him would be thinking “what are you saying girl?” but TRUST ME that boy is nothing but good. Now, Aoife Molloy. My QUEEN.She is absolute PERFECTION. She has a heart and soul of gold. I have NOTHING but love for this girl. And honestly everything and anything I say about her is just going to be me raving about how amazing and wonderful and phenomenal she is.She NEVER gives up on Joey. She SEE’S him. She sees the angel we all know is in there and love even when he does everything to make her hate him and to make her push him away. She see’s through all his crap, she calls him on it, and she makes him own up to it. She is a GODDESS.THEIR BANTER 😫 Oh my gosh they had me dying. If she got an idea in her head, if there was something she wanted, SHE GOT IT.I aspire to be her. She is my queen, my mother, my goddess. My everything.Their relationship is a roller-coaster let me tell ya. You see the highs, the lows, and everything in between so be prepared to go from laughing to crying back to laughing within a chapter. Ms. Chloe loves to play with our emotions I swear.JoeyAoife deserve the world and I don’t know how I am supposed to make it to March 17th but I WILL FOR THEM 😭🫶

Joey Lynch
All of these books are just such tragedies. Joey Lynch has forever stolen our hearts with his loyalty to his siblings. I loved the slow burn of Joey and Aoife and I loved the way Aoife’s character was built. The Malloy’s have stolen the show! I don’t think I’ll ever forget this book. Get. The. Tissues. Ready.

Beautiful and Heartbreaking
I am loving this series so far! These books deal with hard subjects but they are so beautifully written. We knew Joey had a problem at the end of the 2nd book. Joey is such a beautiful person carrying all the weight of all the problems. He loves so deeply. I can’t wait to see what happens in Redeeming 6.

I cannot be the only person who believes that these books were just getting better and better with each one that came. Aoife and Joey destroyed me in ways that words can’t even describe.this book really showcased pure destruction that family violence can have on a person and the way they will crumble to their own weaknesses despite having beautiful people trying to uplift them and save them from themselves. Joey was just a product of his time and his environment, and I don’t think anyone can blame him for the person that he became as we moved through this book with him.My favourite part of this book was the way that it was broken into as it really helped to anchor the story to different points in time and truly understand the length of this relationship between Joey and Aoife. truth be told, I don’t think Joey ever stand at a chance with Aoife as she was so hellbent on being his person and him loving her that I don’t think he had a chance surviving her love.My heartbreak for Joey, more times than just once and I felt myself holding back tears as we read about all of the devastating things that happened to him in his life, the abuse that he was a victim of, and the state of his mental health as he realise that he couldn’t handle this lifestyle anymore and he had access to ways to shut it all down. I think if anyone was in Joey’s position they would’ve crumbled the same way that he did.Aoife is such a beautiful breath of fresh air in this story. She truly was the heart and soul and she bared herself to Joey multiple times so that he knew he wasn’t alone and she wasn’t going anywhere.Knowing where the story goes into the next book makes it even harder to read knowing the way that Joey comes to his mental health and his addiction had me pre-empting my tears before I even started the next book.My only downside to this book was I did feel that, at times, the writing was a bit all over the place and could have done with some editing and cutting.
