August 8, 2023 – Schlage F40 ACC 619 Accent Door Lever, Bed & Bath Privacy LockThis is a nice door lock, worked great on a newly installed hallway door. The locking mechanism is different from my other locks, but it is fine and easy to use. I was pleased with how easy it was for me to install.

These are nice but something to consider when buying your door knobs or levers
Levers are really nice to have when your older so why not put them in now… These are really nice and great quality, one thing I didn’t think of before I replaced every handle in my home is the width and how large they are (how far out they stick away from the door on each side) I have a small home and some of the doorways are not wide especially walking into the closet and that extra inch or so is annoying.. I did replace the closet with one that is narrower and am so much happier. Wouldn’t think an inch would make that much difference but when you are tight on space its something to consider. If that’s not an issue for you these are really nice and look good.

Reversible, but look different
Sturdy, nice finish, smooth mechanism. Works beautifully. Door handle has to be positioned in only one direction, depending on how the door needs to be locked. In the bathroom where I installed this, the entry door handle swoops in one shape, and the linen closet in the bathroom has the closet door swooping in the other shape (upside down). It looks nice both ways, but fits the hand ergonomically better like the picture shows, with the higher part of the swooping handle fitting into the palm of the hand. I don’t mind the two different “swoops” on the different door handles, but if you care, you probably would be happier with a door handle that looks the same upside down as it does right side up. This one doesn’t.

We installed lever style handles that were a really good price – silly us. They were really “sharp” on the end and I gouged myself a couple of times pretty badly. They also didn’t close smoothly – kind of a “kerchunk” but I didn’t know that was weird. Finally broke down and ordered one of these to replace the one that injured me most often. Oh my goodness! They are smooth and have rounded edges everywhere – no danger at all. But even better, they were easy to install and the work way better – close softly and cleanly and open with a gentle push on the lever. Needless to say, I’ve now ordered enough to replace all our handles.

A decent handle is getting tougher to find, but this one is alright.Has a nice enough look to it, finish seems good and overall the handle feels solid when you use it.My only complaint is the turning radius is more extreme than other handles, so with other handles you turn about half way and you can open the door, this one makes you turn fully. Not a deal breaker, but when you are used to not having to turn a handle fully to open a door on every other handle in the house you will notice the small amount of extra effort needed on this handle…or find yourself pulling on a door not yet willing to open. Doesn’t seem to be adjustable for that issue either.

This handle is very sleek and nice with the doors in my house, I love the finish and the feature that if a kid locks the door from the inside with the button, a toothpick or something skinny to fit through the small hole would unlock the door and prevent unnecessary stress. It holds up well and does exactly what it needs to!
