A Game Changer!
I recently purchased the Samsung T7 Portable SSD, and I couldn’t be more impressed! This little powerhouse has transformed the way I store and transfer data.First off, the speed is phenomenal. With read speeds up to 1,050 MB/s and write speeds of 1,000 MB/s, transferring large files is a breeze. I’ve moved several gigabytes of data in just a few seconds—it’s a massive time-saver!The design is sleek and modern, making it not just functional but also a stylish accessory. It’s lightweight and compact, fitting easily in my pocket or bag, which is perfect for on-the-go use. Plus, the durable casing adds an extra layer of protection, giving me peace of mind when I’m traveling.Another standout feature is the built-in security. The T7 includes password protection and AES 256-bit hardware encryption, ensuring my data is safe from prying eyes. It’s reassuring to know my sensitive files are well-protected.Compatibility is also excellent. I’ve used it with my laptop, desktop, and even my gaming console without any hiccups. The T7 is truly versatile, making it an essential tool for anyone who needs reliable external storage. In summary, the Samsung T7 Portable SSD delivers on every front—speed, design, security, and compatibility. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a dependable, high-performance storage solution. It’s worth every penny!

Small, fast and rugged
I’ve been through my fair share of old school hard drives, travel HDD, SD cards, internal SSDs etc… over the years. When this arrived, I was surprised by how small it is. Maybe about half the size of my medium size phone. Exterior rubber is nice, feels good in hand and doesn’t slip as much on a desk. Most importantly, that thing is fast and it really doesn’t feel like you’re dealing with an external peripheral. It’s a true pleasure to use. Only gripe is that it disconnects easily if you’re not careful but that’s something I can overlook given how good everything else is.

Gotta be one of my favorite purchases
I use this to record my videos into from obs and it works great, it’s strong, fast, and it works great for gaming, it doesn’t make any noise, I haven’t experienced a data loss, it connects to my computer super fast and it doesn’t take up space on my desk, so it fits well.

A decent substitute for the Sandisk 4TB Extreme Pro Portable SSD V2 until Sandisk fixes them…
I do a lot of backups, and I’ve been backing up computers to hard drives for a very long time. As different external drives move to prominence, I move to them. Samsung SSDs I had used as internal drives, but the first class of SSD I used for external drives were the Sandisk 4TB Extreme Pro V1 & V2 portable SSDs. These drives were absolutely phenomenal! I literally bought a dozen of them over many years. But then, in the past 18 months or so, Sandisk released a bad batch of them that lost user data! So until they fixed the issue, I couldn’t risk buying one, so I tried the Rugged T7 – which seems like the closest substitute. It’s a fine drive to compare to the old Extremes. It’s a little bigger and heavier, but that’s because it’s rugged, and I love that. I love the rubber feel. Samsung generously gives you two full cables to use with it – one with USB-A and one with USB-C. The packaging was really cool, but I’m one of those people who likes to store the drive and cable in the original packaging, and the box is pretty huge for that. This isn’t an issue at all if you want to just store the drive separately. So why do I only consider this a good drive until Sandisk gets back on their feet again? Simply because it’s a lot slower than the Extremes. For people coming from rotating disks, they will be very impressed, but this is more like a gen1 SSD drive. Using an APFS formatted volume with USB-C and an Apple M1 Max laptop, on BlackMagic I consistently got 825 MB/second read and 633 MB/second write. With the Extreme, I never dropped below 1,000. (Except in real world transfers, where everyone falls and seek rates are more important.)I haven’t done a backup yet with one of these and my M1 Max, so as soon as I do, I’ll update this with a comparison. But so far, this looks to be a fine drive. And It’s OK fast – going faster is more of a luxury item. Since I cannot at the moment recommend Sandisk drives due to the huge scandal, I whole heartedly recommend this Samsung rugged T7 as the next best thing. And it’s at a great price, too – I got the 4TB for just $250. I guess with that in mind, being slower is fine. :)Fingers crossed that companies will solve the technology issues that have been holding back 8TB drives.

The Ultimate Data Protector
**Product Review: Samsung External Hard Drive**As an officer of the law, I’m always on the lookout for reliable tools, whether it’s to uphold justice or back up critical data. The Samsung External Hard Drive is more than just a storage device—it’s the ideal partner in my quest to “serve the public trust, protect the innocent, and uphold the law.”First off, the design is sleek, compact, and durable. It’s built like a tank (or a well-armored cyborg), but with the elegance of a device that could fit right into my leg holster. The hard drive’s speed is nothing short of impressive, transferring files faster than I can say, “Dead or alive, you’re coming with me.”Its security features are robust, just the way I like it. With encryption capabilities, I can keep all my sensitive data safe from cybercriminals. They won’t stand a chance against this digital fortress—consider it the “Directive 4” of data protection. But let’s not forget the storage capacity! With room for everything from case files to crime scene photos, I’ve got space to spare for all my justice-related needs and a few cat memes too (hey, even a cybernetic cop needs a laugh). In conclusion, the Samsung External Hard Drive is efficient, reliable, and a solid companion for anyone looking to secure their data. Whether you’re backing up important files or just need some extra storage space, this device will have your back—just like me, RoboCop. I’d buy that for a dollar!(Note: It’s actually worth a lot more than a dollar, but you get the point.)

I waited for this to go on sale. It’s been over 2+ years and it’s still going strong. Very rugged. It has travelled with me to 3 different countries. Stored countless videos and photos. I do wish I bought a bigger storage space, but due to budget, this was all I could afford. Transfer speed is super fast. I can edit my videos directly from it without any latency. My only complaint is that the lint in my pocket sticks to the “outer shell.” A wet cloth easily cleans it up.
