The book’s format is incredibly easy to follow, whether you’re a beginner or at a more advanced level. The step-by-step routines help so that you don’t fall behind. Not only that, using a chair is a very simple way to maintain stability while doing yoga.This book is well structured and has sections for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Each level is further divided into poses for balance, posture, mobility, strength, and heart health. Each section has a 28-day challenge weekly routine, which is super helpful to get you going. Excellent exercise regime for seniors that doesn’t require a floor mat.
As I age, I have realized a need to increase my balance and mobility to prevent falls, but in a safe way that is designed for seniors. In the past, I have noticed that most, if not all, of professional Physical Therapy uses yoga stretches which has led me to know its importance. I needed an easy to use resourse, and I believe I have found it in this book. This book makes Chair Yoga an easy to follow, step-by-step guide to master 100+ poses and exercises designed to enhance fitness and wellness.This book is well structured, focusing on safety, a step by step guide, and gradual progression. There are chapters for three different levels… beginner, intermediate, or advance levels. Each routine can be done in under 10 minutes. These include poses for posture, balance and mobility, heart health, and strength. These chapters each present 28 Day Chair Yoga challenges, and there is also a Tracking Chart to monitor your progress!I have found that the simple, low impact chair workout fits my needs. I was looking for exercise that restores my fleibility, releive pain through stretching, boost bone desity, and gain longer independence as I age. I am in my 70s and love to travel and know the importance of increasing balance and mobility.This book also includes cardio-toning chapter in a chair for weight loss (a big plus). Again, in this chapter there are also 10 minute routines with a 28 day challenge that are tailored to all fitness levels with a tracking chart.The last chapter is called “Beyond The Chair”. It highlights the synergy between nutrition, mediation, and chair yoga for seniors. It covers hydration needs, nutritous whole foods, and anti-inflammatory nutrients to support physical and cognitive health.
